IPFT: Working with Groups and Families

Working with Groups and Families

A Specialization Course of the Imago Professional Facilitator Training

Fundamentals of Imago Facilitation or Module 1 of the Imago Clinical Training are Pre-Requisites for this Course.

SCHEDULE: (Weekly) Sept 19 - October 24, 2024 1 -4 pm Eastern

DESCRIPTION: The power of a group is enormous, and change often happens deeper and faster than it will in a one-to-one context. In this module, Imago Facilitators will be asked to explore the leadership role in various types of small groups such as workshops, support groups, skill building groups, culture shifting groups, and intensives. In addition to these groups, participants will learn the basics of working with the one of the most important groups in our lives, families. Participants will build a group from the ground up with contracts for group members entering and exiting the group as well as how to facilitate each meeting. You will also learn to navigate Imago group processes such as the Development Circle, Group as Expert, and Commuologue. This module is perfect for facilitators looking to expand their leadership skills to small groups and families!

Learning Objectives:

Participants will...

1.Establish a clear group contract for entering and exiting your groups.

2. Facilitate an Imago-based group session using Imago processes such as Development Circle, Group as Expert, and Communologue.

3. Demonstrate leadership competency with small groups by teaching the Intentional Dialogue with clear instruction, and then facilitating the dialogue with 2+ group members, practicing bridging between each member.
